Meta Mosaic
This work comes out of my fascination with the interplay of light. Especially the effects of bright sunlight. The aim is to create sparse yet interesting forms with a rich transient dimension. The original inspiration goes back to my visit in Wells cathedral cloisters where sunlight was catching a small, narrow lead paned window panel and throwing the colours across the wall. The effect was breathtakingly beautiful and uplifting to me All the more special because it could only happen at a particular time of the day light conditions permitting. Another fascination in this work is the way it pushes the boundaries of mosaic method and frees it from it's traditional confines.
